If you've ever made guacamole or a fresh salad topped with avocado, you know how tricky it can be to remove this tasty fruit from its peel. With the Avocado Slicer, it's a cinch. All you do is halve your fruit, remove the pit and slide the slicer just above the skin to scoop and slice at the same time--your ripe avocado is then ready to eat! Slicer is made of 18/8 stainless steel and the handle is easy-to-grip santoprene (rubberized) so it won't slip as you slice. Dishwasher safe.

It would have the same effect and would be easier, neater, and faster." Way to go RR! You should show Sandra this tool!

It took a little getting used to at first, but now it is a snap to get all the flesh from the peel and not waste any by leaving it behind. The slices it makes are perfect for garnishing soups or sandwiches and are easily mashed to make guacamole in a snap.

I might have been better off buying a graduated set of slicers that I have seen on the market. It does make nice, neat slices and gets rid of the peel without losing too much meat.
by Stephanie (HESPERUS, CO) This is a great tool for large avocados. The kind I get where I live are smaller, however, so it was always too big. I had to give it to a friend from out of town. If you buy the bigger ones, definitely would recommend.
