Chef's Choice Black Electric French Press-Plus:
Whereas most other french presses automatically begin to cool down your hot water once you pour hot water into it, this ingenious German-made Cordless Electric French Press eliminates that issue by allowing you to boil and brew your coffee (or tea) all in one carafe. A solid state heating element boils the water in just 4 minutes, faster than on a stove or in a microwave, and will automatically shut off once the water reaches a full boil. Brew cycle is shorter than most conventional coffee makers thanks to the unit's ability to brew at the optimum temperature of 195 -205 degrees Fahrenheit, resulting in superb flavor and aroma. Also features a boil-dry alert, safe Lid Lock system for easy pouring, heat-resistant glass carafe, easy-to-clean stainless filters and an extra lid for use as a hot pot. 8-cup capacity. Cordless press detaches from corded base; cord stores easily in base.

by Robin (Bolton, MA) 1 review This French Press makes terrific coffee and it's quite easy to use! The manual that comes with it made it seem very complicated but it's actually very simple. Coffee tastes great and stays hot for about 45 minutes. I previously used a Capresso automatic drip coffeemaker and this simple device blows that expensive machine away! I'll never go back.
by Vernon (Nevada City, CA) 2 reviews I have been drinking coffee since 1955 in the college dorm chow hall. My Texas rancher uncle boiled his coffee grounds in the pot. During my 22 years in the Navy , I downed gallons of the stuff.
Then, I bought your Electric French Press-Plus and a Capresso grinder. It is a whole new world of coffee flavor that I never knew existed. I can never go back.
Thanks Cooking.com for improving my enjoyment of life.
by Doug (Kailua, HI) 4 reviews My girlfriend loves her coffee, and she stays with me on the weekends. I purchased this to replace the old coffee maker she was keeping at my house after seeing a television program on coffee. And while many people on the TV show did not agree on the type of coffee they liked the best, they all agreed that the best method of brewing the coffee was with a french press.
After looking around at the different types of French Press, I picked this one because it also heats the water for you. Cold water from the tap begins to boil in less than 2 minutes, and in about 4 minutes it's already time to add the coffee.
According to my girlfriend, the coffee produced is wonderful. I have not found any grains of coffee escaping the mesh screen and mixing with the coffee.
Clean up is a bit more involved than a typical coffee maker, but for me it's worth it.
by Ellen (BERLIN, NH) 1 review The French Press-Plus coffee/tea pot works just fine except for the fact of emptying out grounds. They are difficult to get out but easier if they are dry.
