by Kathleen (Shingle Springs, CA) 1 review I love All-Clad. The pan has great balance and doesn't tip over on my gas range grates. I've had other pans that do this and it is annoying ( the handle pulls the empty pan over). The performance is great and I love the size. A lid would be nice, but it's something I can live without too. The size is great for cooking small amounts of food. I use it for heating soup, oatmeal, sauce, basically single serving stuff. Even heat distribution too. I'm very happy with the purchase.
by Charlotte (Orinda, CA) 1 review All Clad's newest and most technoogically advanced line of cookware- the Duo Core 2 Series, is the serious chef's best friend. It heats quickly and evenly, and the weight is perfect- substantial without requiring advanced training in weight lifting. The saucier is no exception. I recently made a barbeque sauce in my new saucier and was impressed. It simmered evenly, without leaving burn spots on the bottom or sides, even when I added a cup of brown sugar. The only drawback is that it does not come with a lid. While sometimes one does not want a lid-especially if you are making a reduction sauce, other times you need a lid to get a simmer without evaporation. Why not give the buyer the option to do either? Of course if you are fortunate enough to own an Al-Clad set, one of your smaller saucepans will have a lid that fits the saucier. Still, it would be nice to have a lid come with the saucier. I thought the price was fantastic! A piece of Duo-core 2 for around forty dollars? What a bargain. All in all, if you are serious about cooking, this small investment is a must!
by Erica (La Jolla, CA) 1 review This pan is a gem for any chef. Premium All-Clad quality, just the right size for that reduction you're making while your stovetop is full of everything else.
