RSVP International Stainless Steel Compost Pail:

Before you discard your carrot tops, potato peels, eggshells and coffee grounds, stop! Keep this Compost Pail handy and you can put those things and more to good use in the garden. Made of 18/8 polished stainless, it can sit on your counter or prep area and still look attractive. It also fits easily under a sink, too. The lid features holes for aeration and inside contains a charcoal filter to eliminate odor (replace filter every 3-6 months). It's a great way to recycle and turn your green thumb even greener. Pail holds 1-gallon of compost.

This composter works great with the filters. It does keep odor away. The only problem I have encountered is that fruit flies can easily crawl in and out of the holes in the lid. So it is important for me to empty the pail daily.

great on kitchen counter

I am trying to cut down on waste and have started composting. This product sits on my kitchen counter, looks great, and makes it super easy to save lots of stuff (coffee grinds, egg shells, vegy and fruit trimmings) that I otherwise would have put down the disposal. I empty it every two to three days, it has never had an odor, and it doesn't take up too much room.

We just purchased a house with a beautifully redone kitchen. My wife was using an old cottage cheese container to keep compost scraps by the sink and I had the day off. I decided a surprise was in order...

After searching multiple-web sites offerings, I found this one. It is beautiful, heavy duty, large, easy to empty and clean and free from odor and gnats. If you are limited on counter space, the gallon model may be too big for you but otherwise I highly recommend this pail if you are interested in composting. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent pail: solid, elegant, practical

This is an excellent product. I like its solid construction and the smooth fit of its lid. It's easy to carry and dump empty.

I wasn't so sure about composte bins in general. I thought I was going to spend a lot of money for some fancy tin can.

Since my wife wanted on for a present (she is an enthusiast gardener) I went ahead and bought this one. And now I love with it!

We used to keep kitchen scraps in a mixing bowl, which we would dump regularly in a compost pile outside our house. The food scraps kept falling off the bowl. They would stink and give to our kitchen a permanent cluttered look.

This compost pail conceals perfectly from sight and smell the scraps. The lid closes tightly but at the same time its rounded edges allow an easy fit, so I can open and close the lid easily with one hand while I have the other hand when I am busy cooking.

Well made, good looking compost pail

It's expensive, but worth the investment if you are looking for a well-made, good-looking compost pail for your kitchen counter. We've used our for over a month and think it works very well. We have not had any problems with ants or other critters being attracted to the refuse in the pail prior to making its way out to the composter.
