All-Clad Stainless Steel Skillet:

Understated elegance and top quality are two features of this 12-in All-Clad MC2 Skillet, an update on their popular Master Chef line. Interior and handle are high-polished stainless while exterior is brushed stainless. Heavy aluminum core covers bottom and sides so eggs, crepes and sauteed food cooks even and quickly. Sloped sides allow you to toss and slide food out onto a serving plate with ease, leaving delicate omelettes and other culinary creations intact.

All-Clad proudly unveils a contemporary new design of the original Master Chef cookware line. The New MC2 cookware combines the industrial style of the brushed aluminum pan exterior with the brand's signature gleaming stainless steel "stay cool" handles. The new generation of Master Chef cookware features an easy-to-clean, highly polished 18/10 stainless steel cooking surface and a thick core of aluminum for superior heat conductivity and the ultimate in cooking performance. The 3-ply bonded construction ensures heat is evenly distributed and retained. Solid, cast-stainless handles stay cool. Lifetime warranty. (Item #195376) w4

As I already know, All-Clad is the best bang for your buck. It's a wonderful skillet when used properly! Slowly but surely I'm replacing my collection of All-Clad that was lost to a house fire.

Great skillet, wish it had a lid

Let me preface this by saying that the 12" All-Clad MC2 is a very fine skillet; I've used it several times with no complaint. The scullery department, aka my hubby, also has no complaints about clean-up. It's a pricey item that I got on sale, and for that reason I consider it a good value.

My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a lid, and I'm going to have to buy one separately, thus pretty much negating my "good value" rating. That's the only reason I'm not recommending that people buy it. Instead, buy the 12-in covered skillet in All-Clad's Stainless line (which is the ATK recommended one), on sale for just a few dollars more than this one!

I have to say I'm kind of peeved that, even though I looked pretty carefully through the products on this site when I was shopping for All-Clad, I didn't see that the Stainless covered skillet was on sale. I didn't know it until I'd received the MC2, used it, and then happened to leaf through the little mini-catalog that came with the order! If I hadn't already used the MC2, I would have gladly returned it and ordered the covered version.

Unbelievable
Customer ReviewWould purchase againMay. 31, 2009

I am a beginner cook in the sense of having confidence enough in the kitchen to just throw together ingredients and have it come out fabulous. I kept reading about even cooking, carmelizing, getting the garlic to fragrance without burning and it wasn't happening for me. So I decided to get a great skillet without the coating and see if I could, too, create. I had my eye on a more expensive All Clad for a year ($135) and then you had a sale and I got this one. I can do it! I do all those things mentioned above and cleaning is like cleaning a ceramic dish. I absolutely DELIGHT in using this skillet. I create meals from scratch and they are tasty and fast. This skillet is worth every penny. Love the lifetime guarantee.
Thank you for introducing me to a whole new world.

As a professional chef, my cookware is my business. All-clad is the only cookware that lives up to my expectations. Exceptional looking as well as outstanding perfermance. Heats up quickly, no hotspots and maintains heat as items are placed in pan. The only line the I would recommend more is the Copper-core. Only draw back is the price.
Amazing pan that will be a workhorse for years to come.
