However using it OVER your original, it works well. The new device to tighten the cord, works well.

by Derryl (Pembroke, MA) 1 review The Brabantia Ironing board is well constructed and will last forever. The cover is well made, fits snugly and is well padded which absorbs the iron's heat. Because of the heat absorbtion and wide surface of the board, this system makes easy work of shirts, jeans, wool & silk. The pads available at the big store say they fit but do not. Brababtia includes a rubber cord that keeps that cover in place. The 5 year old cover that I replaced has been washed, is used for crafting and is still in great shape. Don't waste you money on knock offs as they do not fit. I do a lot of ironing and Brabantia is the best.
by Deborah (Murrieta, CA) 1 review Like other reviewers, I found this product a little thinner than I would have hoped. BUT I searched everywhere and found this and I am very happy with it. Since it is so thin I just put it over my existing cover and it serves the purpose well. The fit is great and I am pleased with it overall. In fact I bought two because they are so hard to find in this size.
