We have had three and just wore out #2. # 1 finally expired this winter (orange cylinder shaped) after serving as the party decaf pot for 10+ years. The 10 cupper we have now makes great coffee but the pot design is for slow pourers only. We often leave a puddle on the countertop. Otherwise the no bells and whistles suit us perfectly.
by Thomas (Omaha, NE) 2 reviews Even though our old coffee maker worked, it didn't work well. Two problems: the basket type filter often collasped and the shut off valve always leaked. The Braun uses a cone filter that maintains its shape and the shut off valve actually works. Both my problems have been solved. Further, the Braun brews quickly and the black unit always has a clean appearance on the kitchen counter.

After a horrible experience with a Krups that repeatedly leaked all over my countertop, I decided to return to a Braun. I couldn't be more pleased. No timer, no grinder, no clock.... just perfect coffee every time, and a sleek style that takes up minimal space on my counter. The swing-out basket is easy to load, and the outside water level indicator is easy to read. Brew interrupt allows you to pour a cup before brewing is complete, but that's about as fancy as this machine gets -- which is just fine with me. I've had this unit several months now, and can give it an unqualified recommendation.
