I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the carving set and cutting board. The knives are sharp and have done well when carving various cuts of meats, from roast beef, large poultry and london broil. I found the carving set very convenient because I always know the location of these items. The wood quality appears well made although somewhat soft. There are sratches etched in the board from the few times I've used it but, other than that, it has held up well to somewhat frequent use. I also like the wells that catch juices that run off, which was missing from another cutting board I owned. Additionally, I like that the cutting board is reversible and have used both sides, depending on the cut of meat. I no longer use my other cutting board. This set is a good value. I would recommend this item for purchase.

The carving set is not Henckels best, by any means.
But it makes a great gift and it keeps the carving set with the carving board where it belongs.

The board was poorly constructed, the wood was rough, insufficiently sanded and the species felt light and unsubstantial. I was looking for my next 20 year cuttting board to fall in love with. I guess I'll simply have to keep looking.

It did arrive with one of the wooden pegs smashed and unusable. Since Cooking.com is not going to carry the product any longer they did not have the replacement parts. Still working with Henkles to get the replacement.
