The lifting prongs stand the test,however the injector will only accomodale a clear infusion (bits of herbs, garlic, crushed peppercorns, etc will clog). It does still second as a great baster. I am pleased with this product, and have cooked a roast every sunday since I received it. I have also left the drippings from a prime rib roast in the pan, baked my Yorkshire pudding, and served all tableside. A great New England tradition.
