Jura-Capresso Infinity Conical Burr Grinder:
This Capresso Infinity grinder offers exceptional results for home, the office or wherever fine coffee is served. Choose from any of the 16 settings (four each for extra fine, fine, regular and coarse) using the commercial grade, solid conical steel burrs that precisely grind your roasted beans. A gear reduction motor works slowly with little noise; the reduced static and heat buildup produce more flavorful results. It holds 8.8-oz. of beans, and features a timer than can be set from 5 to 60 seconds. There's even a Pulse setting for a quick whir. Comes complete with cleaning brush and measuring scoop. And for ease of cleaning, the grinding wheel is completely removable. Plastic housing with brushed chrome color.
by Carolyn (Jackson, WY) 1 review I'd give this grinder a 4.5 if I could.
I love the fine grind this creates for my lattes, and the French Press grind as well (haven't tried the other size grinds yet). I really like the look of the grinder, very modern and attractive. It grinds enough fine coffee for one latte very quickly, and without excessive noise.
There was a fluorescent flier in the box that warned about putting the bean hopper on in the right way or risk breaking the hopper. I didn't have a problem with this, but with re-assembling the grinder after cleaning (I cleaned it in the evening, then put it back together in the morning, before coffee). I accidentally placed one of the grinder parts in upside down, then when I went to put the hopper back on the grinder part got stuck! I tried (gently) prying it out with no luck (thanked my lucky stars I still had my old grinder so I could still make my morning coffee) and emailed cooking.com to see if they could help me. They couldn't, but sent me Capresso's phone number. The very nice gentleman who answered talked me through the fix (just had to rotate the black inner piece to release the grinder part) and I was back on track in under a minute!
The only other thing that is a little troublesome is that the vessel that catches the ground coffee has these corners that coffee gets easily stuck in.
This said, I am still VERY happy with the quality of the ground coffee, and the product overall.
by Rosa (San Juan, PR) 1 review If you want the real expresso experience and have an expresso machine with a steam pump, you may still find your coffee lacking. You need a great coffee grinder for your beans, one that uses blades. I bought one of these about 2 years ago for my home and found it excellent. It is easy to use, easy to keep clean, and gives excellent results. When my son had an apartment of his own and his own expresso coffee machine, he complained about his coffee not being up to par. So I got him this grinder as a gift for his birthday. And he is ever so pleased with the results.
by Judi (HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) 1 review This is the second grinder that we have tried in as many months and the third over the last 2 years and by far is the best. It is worth the extra money to have the convenience of walking away without having to ensure the beans continue to push from the hopper into the grinder. That and the choices of grind that range from extremely fine (turkish quality) to very coarse (more than adequate for French press) are why we are very pleased with this choice.
by Aubri (AUSTIN, TX) 1 review This grinder make a perfect grind. We have really enjoyed the quality of the grind and think it is a great value. I would recommend this grinder to others and I am very happy with this purchase. I hope it last me a long time. It is not the most stylish grinder on the market, but not bad looking either. I like that is does not take up large amounts of counter space too.
