Well, the skimmer is really nice and well made but I had to laugh when I received it... I thought the 8" measurement was the length of the whole thing from skimmer to end of handle not the size of the the round skimmer itself... so it really is huge... but I will keep it anyway because just maybe someday I will use it...:)

I guess 8 inches is bigger than I thought! It is quite large, but sturdy and does its job well. It will get much use in my kitchen!
