Along with that, the toast comes out very evenly browned, which is lovely. The toast lift could lift higher, but it still brings your toast up an extra 1/2 inch, which is great. The only caution is that the entire top of the toaster gets very hot, which could make using the toast lift a bit awkward as the inclination is to rest a finger on top for leverage and also to keep the toaster from lifting up.

I do like this one. It toasts well and has long, wide slots--the main reason I wanted a new one. It's harder to keep clean because of finger prints, but that's o.k.
