Bodum Clear Santos Electric Vacuum Coffee Maker:
Introducing the only vacuum brewing system that satisfies both coffee roasters and their fellow scientists. Utilizing their years of coffee knowledge and knack for design, Bodum created this electric vacuum coffee brewer, Bodum Santos. Serve 6-12 cups of freshly brewed coffee with a strong and delicious taste you often find only in coffee houses. It works via a high tech heating system developed especially for the Bodum Santos. No paper filters to make the coffee dull - just a small, easy-to-clean micron nylon filter for a smooth tasting coffee. The entire brewing process is completely contained so no aroma escapes and temperature is ideal and consistent. Enjoy up to 12 cups in just eight minutes, and set the timer for that first cup of the morning. The Santos comes in a clear, heat-resistant polycarbonate.

by David (Tucson, AZ) 1 review After inheriting a Farberware Coffee Robot a few years ago I couldn' believe the better taste of vacuum brewed coffe. Not only is the freshly brewed coffee better tasting but tastes good reheated several hours later. I have found that a coarser drip grind works better than a fine grind.
by Edward (Hyattsville, MD) 1 review This coffee maker is great, and makes a wonderful cup of coffee! It *is* different, however, than any coffee maker you might have used. I have read some reviews where purchasers believed that it was cheap. It is made entirely of clear plastic, but so far it seems to be holding up nicely. Watching the coffee brew is as much fun as watching Jiffypop Popcorn pop- my kids love it! The brew itself is flavorful and stronger than it looks- color is deceptive with this coffee maker. All of the oils are retained which adds to it's intensity. Although most of the parts are dishwasher safe, it is still a bit of a chore to have to clean the grounds out before the next use. One should also be careful not to scratch it when cleaning. I have also read in a previous review where the control buttons do not exactly work with the end of your finger- this is true. You need to use the edge of your fingernail. All-in- all a nice, but different coffee maker!
by Dennis (Littleton, CO) 1 review This coffee maker makes the best coffee ever. I had coffee from the stove top version when I was living overseas, and looked for this type of coffee maker for a very long time. The electric one is just as good of coffee, and much easier to use.
The value for the money, you can't find it made by anyone else, so they could charge much more. But, at the same time, I think it is a bit steep for a coffee maker.
by Brian (Omaha, NE) 1 review I bought this as a gift for my brother, and he tried it out immediately. It worked very well and made some good coffee. I'm wondering how the plastic parts will hold up, but Bodum stuff is usually made well. The whole process is fun to watch, and I like the fact that you don't have to buy paper filters all the time. And because of the pressure system this uses, the built-in filter is MUCH finer than the typical gold filters you can put in an auto-drip machine. So you don't get that sediment.
by walt (Conroe, TX) 1 review The quality of the product is way out of line with the high price. I was so disappointed when opening the package I returned it immediately. For this price you expect a substantial, sturdy and quality product. I do not believe this product fits any of these expectations.
