Wusthof Cook's Knife:


Measuring 9-in., this cook's knife has a rounded blade so you get a back-and-forth rocking motion necessary when chopping onions or mincing fresh herbs. The long blade covers a lot of surface so you can slice, mince or chop more at once. It's a multi-purpose knife made for daily use.

Wusthof, established in Solingen, Germany in 1814, is one of the world's premier manufacturers of forged cutlery. Le Cordon Bleu, founded in Paris in 1895, is recognized as the world leader in professional culinary education with 25 schools located in 15 countries. Excelling at what each does best, the two companies have recently combined their years of expertise to create the Le Cordon Bleu collection by Wusthof.

Their high-end cutting tools are precision-forged from a single blank of high carbon steel with incredibly sharp, specially polished edges. The knives feature distinctively lighter bolsters that are more agile, thus reducing fatigue even with the repetitive motions associated with dicing, peeling or chopping. The handles have no seams that might otherwise attract food particles or juices, making them completely hygienic, and are triple-riveted for added strength. Incredibly sharp and sturdy

This knife slices thru potatoes and carrots like it's going thru butter. Balanced and comfortable to use. Only the test of time will tell if it keeps the sharp edge throughout the years. Run it across a steel each time before use will help but DO NOT try to sharpen it in one of those goofy sharpeners built into your can opener. It will ruin the blade.

This is one of the best knives that I own. I can use it for almost any cutting task. It is exceptional quality and will last forever. I have my own and have even given some as gifts.
