Although a favorite among millions of coffee drinkers - from regular folk to connoisseurs - for more than forty years, many consumers are only now discovering the benefits of cold-brewed coffee. Using one's favorite brand of coffee, cold-brewing ground beans produces a coffee that is naturally low in acid - approximately 67% less acidic than coffee brewed by conventional hot-brew methods, so it's easier on sensitive stomachs. For those who want a superior tasting cup of coffee but can't stomach the acid, cold brewing isn't just another method of brewing - it's a way of life.
As important as those fresh roasted beans are to your cup of coffee, it's what you do with them that counts the most. The Toddy Cold Brew System extracts the coffee bean's true delicious flavor and eliminates much of the acidity, producing a bold, super-smooth coffee concentrate that may be refrigerated for up to 14 days without any deterioration in taste or freshness. Using regular coffee beans, the Toddy cold brew system creates a superior-tasting cup of steaming HOT coffee. The Toddy coffee maker extracts the coffee bean's true delicious flavor and eliminates much of the acidity, producing a bold, super-smooth coffee that can be served one cup at a time. The Toddy brewer is also ideal for making tea - served hot or over ice.
In addition, the Toddy Maker is efficient and versatile. You make your coffee one cup at a time, so there’s no waste as there often is when hot brewing a whole pot. Also, each person in the house can have a cup of coffee as strong as they like.

by James (San Jose, CA) 1 review Use it once overnight and the resulting concentrate is quick and easy to use over the next week or two. Taste is different than hot brew, but not bad. Carafe is made of thin glass - I handle it very gently. While brewing, only a rubber stopper keeps the liquid in - I am nervous that it might come out prematurely. You can minimize this risk by brewing with the basket on top of the carafe, but this arrangement is very top-heavy. Alternatively, brew with the basket resting in the sink or a large bowl. The concentrate does get stale-ish by the end of two weeks. The concentrate makes it very easy to vary the final product strength according to taste. Concentrate is great for meat marinades. I will try freezing concentrate in ice trays for longer life.
by Diana (Show Low, AZ) 4 reviews Before buying the Toddy maker I tried cold brewing with a jar and filters. This is so much more convenient, and less messy. Love the fact that the coffee has less aciidity and caffeine.
by Katherine (Warren Center, PA) 2 reviews This product is easy to use and makes a pitcher of cold brewed coffee. I first read about Cold Brewed Coffee in "Essential Eating" by Janie Quinn. It is supposed to be much better for you than hot brewed coffee -- much less acidic and easier to digest. I like this product for the function it performs and I like this cold brewed coffee better than the coffee I have made in a mason jar and strained but I am still having trouble getting it as hot as I want it when I make a cup of coffee. The best way is to boil some water in my teapot to pour over the cold stuff but since I put cream in it -- it is still not quit as hot as I want. But the product itself works well.
by susan (Portland, OR) 1 review it is a little messy to clean, but not too bad once you get a sysyem down. I like to consistency of the finished product. I would definatly recommend this product to others.
by Alfred (State College, PA) 5 reviews The Toddy received did what was claimed it would do - at least for the first and only time I have been able to brew using it. The coffee concentrate makes a good cup of hot coffee and a good glass of cold coffee - without any bitter and acidic taste. However, upon seeing the very simple plastic container with just 2 filters and glass carafe I was struck with how much one paid for it.
