by Mary (CYPRESS, TX) 1 review This scale is exactly what I needed. I have several recipes that have weight measurements and now I will be able to make sure that everything is measured correctly. I also use the scale to measure my food so I have the correct ounces, etc. for my food plan.
by Joanne (SHIRLEY, NY) 29 reviews I am an avid cook and now into bread baking. I didn't think the liquid measurement capability would be such a big deal, but I'm lovin' it. The little manual that comes with it has a listing of common foods for their weights and measures--liquids, different flours (one cup of one kind of flour does not equal the weight of another), cereals, bread crumbs, nuts,butter, sugar, etc.. It is invaluable. I have referred to it many, MANY times. Example: A recipe says to use one cup of diced onions. You pull out a medium onion wondering if it's enough. The booklet says it should weigh 5 ozs. Now you know..and so forth. No guesswork, no half onions to save for next time. The unit itself is small and fits easily into a narrow drawer. All the control buttons are on top so you can toggle back and forth from ozs. to kgs. It has an 11 lb weight capacity, so I was even able to weigh an oversees package on this. It won't shut off until 3 minutes after it is left idle allowing you time to press 'tare' and add more ingredients to measure. It is truly a baker's dream.
by Angela (Bremerton, WA) 1 review This year my family and I decided to change our eating habits. To help with that I wanted a nice scale so I could measure our meat out better. My Dad decided to buy me the scale I wanted for Christmas and I picked this one.
I like that this is an electric scale, a simple color, simple buttons and weighs liquids as well as solids. As a baker I felt this was a good choice for using when baking and for diet purposes.
So far I love it. It's nice, convenient and I like that I can reset it to 0 after putting a bowl on top.
