One of the things that makes them so pretty is that they are made of a thin glass, but that also makes them a little bit fragile for every day use. My 16 year old daughter broke a peice off of the rim with her mouth trying to take a peice of ice out of her water. We have been using them ever since though and haven't had another problem. Everyone likes them, we are just careful!
