Cuisinart Automatic Burr Coffee Grinder:
With Cuisinart's automatic burr coffee grinder, you can choose how fine or how coarse you like your beans. The coffee grinder has an 18-position grind selector (ultra-fine to extra-coarse) - just place your beans into the 8-oz. bean hopper and turn it on. With it, you can grind enough for as little as four cups to as much as 18 cups (the removable grind chamber holds enough ground coffee for 32 cups). The coffee grinder has a heavy duty motor and a burr grinding mechanism that provides a uniform grind with optimum flavor. The coffee grinder is made of handsome stainless and comes with an electric timer that shuts itself off when the grinding is complete. The Cuisinart coffee grinder has a cord storage area and comes with a scoop and cleaning brush.
by Patricia (Osceola, IA) 1 review My son-in-law expressed an interest in a coffee grinder so decided to get him one for Christmas. After spending hours ( and I mean hours) trying to find the right one I finally decided to purchase this one. The deciding factors were that it seemed like the best deal for the money. While there were numerous negative comments, there were also some positive comments. Those that were more highly recommended were much more expensive. I did not know if my son-in-law would feel it was worthwhile to grind his own beans or weather this was a passing interest, so I did not want to spend more money on something that would soon find it's way to the top cupboard shelf. So I decided on a somewhat middle of the road model. We tried it out the morning after Christmas and the coffee smelled wonderful. The taste was not what we wanted but that was because we needed to find the right amount of freshly ground coffee to use. It did not work to use the same amount of ground coffee as the freshly ground. But since then he has made coffee using this coffee grinder everyday and says it is great. He has not indicated any problems to me so I presume that means that nothing is so terrible that it is worth commenting on. So with all of that I think it has been a successful purchase. If something happens to this one then we will know more about what to look for in purchasing either and identical model or a more expensive one. But anyway, so far so good ....and good coffee drinking.

by Philip (Moncure, NC) 4 reviews I have had a Braun mill for over 30 years - burr grinding mechanism wore out; and I used it past when i should have. Mill has been discontinued for years, and parts are no longer available...perhaps it has become an antique. I looked at many mills before I purchased the Cuisinart, and spoke with people that had one. I find it to work very well, and while others have com[plained about noise, it is no louder than my old mill. It is, for me, difficult to expect a "silent" mill that is grinding relatively hard coffee beans in any kind of grinder.
by Sarah (Garnerville, NY) 2 reviews Does a lovely job! My one complaint is if there are only a few beans left, they tend to "dance" around the hopper, rather than go down the chute. Other than that, it's easy to clean, stores well (nice cord holder thingie along the bottom), and fills the kitchen with that delicious coffee smell!
