Sanyo White Micom Rice Cooker and Warmer:

Sanyo's micro-computerized rice cooker also acts as a warmer so even if your rice has finished cooking before you're ready to serve dinner, it will stay warm without cooling. The rice cooker and warmer has a 3.5-cup capacity, making it ideal for smaller portions or for individuals or couples. An extra-thick inner cooking pot is made of easy-clean, Titanium-coated, nonstick and has a rounded bottom for maximum heat distribution. A 24-hour clock has a preset timer that allows you to set it and go. In addition, this cooker allows for Dol sot bi bim bap, which is a quintessential Korean rice dish; bi bim bap combines bits of beef and slivered vegetables. Cooked rice is placed in the pot (dol sot), heated for several minutes and topped with the other ingredients. An exclusive Sanyo feature.

Unfortunately, this cooker did not live up to my expectations. The first time I tried to use it there was an electrical burning smell and the digital readout filled up with condensation.

fabulous brown rice

I love the machine. It is so easy to make a great, easy, really healthy meal that is not expensive. I am vegetarian. Yesterday I we had brown rice, extra firm tofu baked in a marinade in the oven, snow peas stir-fried with garlic and olive oil, fresh beets baked in the oven and beet greens steamed in micro-wave with lemon juice and bragg's liquid aminos over them. It was a really tasty and beautiful looking meal---better than anything you could get in a Chinese restaurant. I kept the large cooked pot of rice in the frig and just reheated some in the oven with tin-foil over it, while tofu was baking. And the remaining rice will make a great mexican meal another day. Consider eating more rice, and if you have the time read the book The China Study---will change how you eat and make you really excited about trying new foods.
