Dualit Canary Yellow Toaster:
In vibrant colors like canary yellow, the Dualit Vario toaster has extra-wide, pressure sensitive, spring-loaded slots that allow you to use a new type of sandwich cage (sold separately), also by Dualit. With the sandwich cage, you can toast sandwiches inside your Dualit toaster – your gourmet goat cheese and Parma ham sandwich can be placed inside then inserted into the toaster slot. The sandwich cage's drip tray catches any cheese or filling that might fall out during toasting. Also unique about the Dualit Vario toaster is its award-winning ProHeat element, an adjustable thermostat and a Keep Warm function that warms without toasting. Switches control the degree of browning and the number of slots you wish to switch on. After toasting, your toast doesn't pop up (as it does with other toasters) but stays warm until the manual ejector knob in front is pushed up. There's also an adjustable rear foot and a removable crumb tray.
About Dualit:
It should come as no surprise that the man who invented the Dualit toaster was an engineer. In 1946, Max Gort-Barten produced the original Dualit toaster in his workshop just off London's Old Kent Road. This new toaster soon set new standards and was followed by one used commercially in restaurants. Designed for heavy-duty use, each Dualit Vario toaster is a blend of the simple and highly sophisticated. The patented ProHeat element uses a radical new heat pattern, encapsulated in a specially developed, high performance material, giving it a unique, protective layer. Each toaster is assembled by hand much as it always was - look on the bottom of your Dualit Vario toaster and you will find the assembler's individual mark on the base plate.

by Ellen (AUGUSTA, GA) 1 review This is a good toaster. It works just as the instructions advise...warms up with the first use, and after that does not take as long to
by Martin (BIRMINGHAM, AL) 3 reviews This toaster is the most expensive I've ever seen, but it's also the most well-built. I think this may be the last toaster I'll ever have to buy. Some things I like about the design and construction: (1) most parts are metal, not plastic; (2) there is no automatic feature that 'pops-up' your toast after it's toasted -- after toasting your toast remains in the toaster keeping warm; (3) you vary the degree of toasting by setting a timer (the large knob at the lower-right of the toaster), giving you a great degree of flexibility. I read some reviews here complaining of burnt toast. In my experience, different breads toast differently, so you'll need to experiment for yourself. Finally, the toaster produces excellent toast.
by kavita (New York, NY) 4 reviews okay, the Pink Dualit Toaster, is the best toaster I have ever used. At first, I had wanted to return it, due to the 'off color'. It was NOT TRUE to the website colors. But the toast it makes it AMAZING! I love that you can make toast, and it keeps warm in the toaster, till the rest of breakfast is ready. My only gripe is the color was not true to the web, (or the Dualit Catalog), and that I wish I had purchased the Four Slice, instead of the 2 slice. Otherwise....GREAT PRODUCT. LOVE IT!
