I don't know if I'll ever prepare French onion soup, but a bowl with a handle is a good choice for any hot food. The bowl is the same size as the ice cream bowls. I've purchased both giving my guests and me more versatility. I don't have to run the dishwasher because we used all the bowls for cereal. |

I bought these as a gift for a friend of mine and when I saw them they looked too cheap to give. The crockery looked thin and color and glaze unattractive. The price was low and so was the appearance of the quality. |

They are the perfect size for enjoying your favorite Chili or Soup. It makes it so much easier to have the handle on the bowl so you don't have to touch the bowl bottom and burn your hands when you go for your next helping. |
