The cherry holder is extra large to accommodate Bing and Rainier cherries and has a recessed cup to securely hold smaller varieties when pitting. by Peggy (Washington, DC) 1 review The OXO Cherry Pitter is one of those rare products that does exactly what is says it does, and with minimal effort. I discovered this AFTER painstakingly pitting 3 pounds of cherries by hand for a cold cherry soup. The next time I made the recipe it took about half the time, using this tool. It is well made, easy to use, and worth the money. I really try not to buy tools that have such limited uses but in this case it's totally worth it.
by Valerie (Harrison, AR) 1 review We have small cherries and i was disappointed when I tried using the cherry pitter on them. It tore the cherries to pieces and didnt remove the pit. I dont know how it will work on bigger cherries, but for our purposes it is useless.
