Here is what one customer had to say: "Today's stand mixers seem to all come with a wattage rating ranging
anywhere from 250 watts all the way up to 1000 watts. This wattage
rating means nothing as far as performance is concerned. It is just
an indication of how much power is going into the unit, not how
much horsepower is being produced. So a stand mixer purchase should
be based on performance not wattage." Click here to read more.
by Kelly (Parker, CO) 3 reviews I never knew how much I needed this mixer. I was a "mix things by hand" kind of person, except cakes, meringue - things you have to use the mixer for. No more! I love this thing. I can make anything in minutes. It feels like I'm not even baking. I feel guilty, like I'm not doing anything. The first night I had it, I made two batches of cookies because the first only took about 30 seconds. The TIMER is a MUST HAVE. I set it, and then realized that I could walk away and do something else while it mixed, without even looking at the clock, amazing. I also love the power it has. My sisters have KitchenAids and I just like the sturdiness of this one better. My kids may not rate it so high as they don't get to help as much. Not as much mising to do. My one complaint - I'd like a longer cord.
by Margaret (Keuka Park, NY) 1 review The first mixer I rec'd. automatically changed the speed from low, to top speed after 2-3 minutes of use. To reset it, I unplugged the unit for about 10 minutes, restarted the mixer on slow speed once again, but the process repeated itself. Turned my black kitchen white with flour. After contacting customer service, I followed their instructions, packed it up, took it to the nearest UPS location [UPS site listed a non-existant business, so I'd like to thank the fine folks at the local Going Postal location for helping to make the return less painful.] My replacement mixer works like it should & would be happy to recommend this fine product to friends & family.

The best feature is the timer. Allows for precise mixing times. A plus for candy makers and forgetful bakers! The motor is powerful and strong enough to mix your hardest doughs. If your last mixer was a Kitchen Aid there is a learning curve when you switch to the Cuisinart. Something's are less intuitive while others are better, i.e. the splash guard. However I'd suggest the 7quart if you do a lot of double batches of cookies. You will have to scrape the bottom though the paddle/hook doesn't quite reach all the way to the bottom.
by Shelly (Billings, MT) 1 review Overall, the mixer is good -- low sound level, great timer. The only drawback is that larger batches go over the top of the mixing paddle/whip, because they fit down into the bowl quite a ways. It works best for smaller batches. If I was purchasing again, knowing this, I would have bought the larger model.
