Having owned Cuisinart products, I thought I had a sure bet in purchasing this item, but, alas, I was mistaken. I make a smoothie every morning and the blender either pushes the banana to one side, thereby leaving it whole, or when it does eventually incorporate the banana, the motor emits a burning smell. How disappointing that a frozen banana in 14 ounces of liquid is too much for a 500 watt motor.
