by Laura (Coram, NY) 1 review My only complaint is that scraping the ice cream off the internal apparatus and off the insides of the bowl are difficult. A lot of ice cream is wasted simply because you can't get it off. Other than that, I love it!
by Amanda (PORT HURON, MI) 1 review We used this all summer long - made great ice creams and sorbets. The recipes in the enclosed booklet weren't very good (a little too sweet), but the ice cream maker it's self is great.
by Lylah (Winnebago, MN) If you look at all the reveiws for this item two negatives seem to pop up repeatedly: 1) The ice cream never solidified and 2) the machine is loud. On my first attempt, I also had the problem that the ice cream remained soupy after 40 minutes of churning. What we determined is that it takes a long time to get the canister completely frozen. That first failed attempt happened after having the canister in the freezer for six hours. We cleaned the canister out and returned it to the freezer and when we took it out the next day, the liquid could still be heard slightly sloshing inside the canister. I then put it deep in the deep freeze for 4 hours and that did the trick. Completely frozen, one can then hardly hold the canister as it is so cold. Upon this attempt, we could see the ice cream solids within five minutes and in 20 minutes it was more than enough time to get a consistancy of soft serve. A couple hours in the freezer and the ice cream was quite hard. So if you can hear sloshing in the canister, you haven't got it cold enough. As for the noise, I wouldn't characterize the machine as quiet but it is certainly less noisy than our old machine that used ice. I was watching tv in the next room while the machine was running and didn't feel the need to raise the volume. Homemade ice cream on birthdays is a tradition at our home and this machine makes it a tradition that is much easier to continue.
