You can store enough beans for several days in the top part and only grind what you need. It grinds to my specifications by my selection on a dial and coffee grounds go into the bottom vessel without spilling grounds when I remove it to scoop out what I need. I am so happy with mine I have bought another one for my son for Christmas and recommended it to my brother, who also loves his.

It is quieter, faster, far less messy and produces a uniform grind at my prefered degree of fineness. I love it and wish I had invested in one years ago.
