It doesn't state that it is a steamer but it does have that capability. I cooked a lovely steel oats and apple recipe in it and well the recipe is delicious! I really love how beautiful it is. It matches my kitchen well and is not so huge to take up much counter space. Very easy to clean which I hand wash. I think it could go for about 20 bucks less. Otherwise I am pleased and hope it will not disappoint in longevity.

The best feature that I like about this product is that the rice stays fresh much longer without turning yellow or smelling funny. I am happy with the product
