A multi-purpose pot is a must in a home chef's kitchen, ant this wonderful 6-qt. Italian Essentials Pot by Mario Batali is the most useful you can find. Shown here in Pesto, this pot is constructed from durable enameled cast iron and has cast stainless lid knobs. Its large size can accommodate everything from pastas and seafood soups to roasts and poultry! The glossy enamel finish on both the interior and exterior makes this pot very easy to clean. The pot has an old world style with modern day accents, including self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid that ensure your roasts stay sumptuously juicy. Excellent heat retention allows this pot to go straight from oven to tabletop and it is also safe for gas, electric and ceramic-top ranges. on the handle was chipped! It probably won't have any impact on the rest of the pot for a while but I was pretty disappointed that they would send damaged product out like this. I'll think twice before I buy from foodnetwork again.

Not only was it easy to do but also the product was delivered in a relatively short time. I would recommend this product and this venue to others. The product is heavy but it browns and cooks foods very well...love the fact that it cleans easily.

It's a great piece of equipment and I highly recommend it to others looking for a cast iron enamel pot, but don't want to make such a huge cash investment before getting to know how they work! I also have a glass/ceramic cooktop and I was a bit worried about using the cast iron on it, but the enamel provides a nice buffer, just don't slide the pot, always lift to move. So far, no scratches, I'm very pleased with it!

I did some research on it and it appeared to get positive reviews, so I went for it. I haven't been sorry I did. I recently had double carpal tunnel release surgery done, so my only complaint is the weight! This sucker is heavy..lol I look forward to the day I can put it in, and take it out, of the oven, all by myself!!
