Le Creuset Chestnut Iron Handle Skillet:

Measuring 9-in., this cast iron skillet is superior to other cookware because it absorbs and retains heat more efficiently as it gently cooks your omelettes, vegetables or seafood. The pierced handle allows you to hang the pan on a pot rack. Since 1925, artisans at Le Creuset have been making richly enameled cast iron cookware in the French village of Fresnoy-le-Grand. Each piece from their line is individually created, coated, fired and inspected in order to bring you the finest quality cookware-to-tableware available. (Item #739087) w5

Getting Use to Cast Iron
Customer ReviewWould purchase againApr. 23, 2009

This is a very nice pan. If you have not used cast iron before, as I have not, it takes time to get used to it. The instructions do not tell you how to "season" the pan. It's also a bit small. The ten inch I believe would be a better size choice.

Very pleased with this skillet....it is a great size and I find that I use it more than any of the other sizes that I have. Just spray with no-stick spray and use on medium (or lower) heat and it works great.

OK pan
Customer ReviewWould not purchase againFeb. 8, 2007

Bought this pan based on a review in the NY Times. However, don't find that it's more stick proof than my other Teflon pans, and with its heavy weight and shallow sides I find myself using it far less than my other pans (or than I thought I would).
