I typically have to angle the slices in and flip. As far as even and golden toasting goes, this toaster is marvelous. I wish there were a lift mechanism to get at smaller slices.

It looks great sitting on your counter, or light enough to store and bring out for usage. Absolutely love mine!! My entire kitchen is supplied with KitchenAid appliances, large and small!
