Most important, it does the job well, producing even toasting across the board of different types of bread and bagels. I've had good experiences with the pro-line type KitchenAid appliances and given the heft and ease of operation, this one looks like it will be affording the same. I've had less expensive toasters that are duds...too flimsy to last and am expecting some longevity with this one.

We purchased a T-Fal toaster which took too long to cook, returned it. Bought a Delonghi toaster which was very hot to touch all around, returned it. Purchased the Kitchen Aid and love it! Even on the lowest setting, it cooks pretty fast. The slots accommodate all sizes.
The toaster is a little large but not over whelming. It also has a great look that matches my kitchen!!
