Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, have made pannis for all meals! Very easy to clean and the latch on the side to keep it closed in an upright position for easy storing is a nice feature. Heats fast, adjustable and cooks evenly and quick.Krups is another of the few brands that I trust to produce a hardworking, long-lasting product.

I did not find it hard to clean, a sponge hits all the grooves quickly. Seems to be a quality-built product. I had also considered the DeLonghi Retro grill and am glad I got this one.

I made my choice based on reviews of other sandwich makers, what people liked and didn't like about what they bought. There were no reviews for this one at the time. This panini maker was the only one with a thermostat. I have never used it beyond 5. This temp is more than adequate for heating sandwiches. It also has an on/off switch. It is large enough to cook 2 large bread sandwiches or 3-4 smaller bread sandwiches at one time. It also accomodates very fat sandwiches easily, with room to spare. The floating lid sits level on the sandwich.The cooking grids are NOT removable for cleaning, however cleaning is VERY EASY. Just wipe clean with a paper towel in the direction of the grids, super simple, and it's ready for the next use. It also has a lock for vertical storage that stays in the locked position. I have made many different sandwiches and all have turned out delicious, never burned, and no matter how fat they are before cooking they always cook completely through. I am very satisfied whith this product.
