Staub Grenadine Round Teakettle:

Melding the old-worldliness of cast-iron with the clean, straight lines of Asian design, this Tea Kettle will make a fine addition to any kitchen. In Grenadine, it casts a striking pose, and yet is so functional—the heat retention is unmatched, so water is ready almost immediately for tea, soup or sauces. The stainless steel handle removes easily. It's sure to provide decades of enjoyment while still looking like new.

From the Alsace region of France comes this incredibly striking yet resilient cookware by Staub. Made of cast iron, with some pieces finished in rich shades of enameled ceramic, it has evolved into a complete line of cookware used by top chefs around the globe. Unique to Staub cast-iron lids are the self-basting spikes, small peaks jutting from the underside that continuously redistribute juices as they collect during the cooking process. In addition, each piece is created in a unique sand mold and made of the finest raw materials available, fired repeatedly to last over generations of cooks. It won't discolor, warp or produce hotspots and never requires seasoning. The even heat distribution and lasting heat retention are what make it so desirable, and what produces the most intense flavor and tenderness in every meal. Suitable for any cooking surface as well as being ovensafe, each piece comes with a limited product warranty.

Customer ReviewWould not purchase againOct. 6, 2009

I ended up returning it. The gray color was darker in person than the way it looked on the internet. The handle is awkward, and it is very heavy.

I love my new cast iron teapot enameled in grey. The first one I received was damaged in shipping but Cooking.com quickly sent me a new one and allowed me to return the damaged one for free. It is the right size for 3-4 cups of tea. It will keep the tea warm for well over an hour with no heat. The handles stay cool to the touch. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Absolutely beautifull teapot!

The Staub teapot is as attractive as it is functional. The Graphite color is a lovely addition to the Staub lineup.
