I coarsely grind my beans to minimize the amount of dregs passing through the filter and let the coffee brew for about 5 minutes before I press. On top of quality coffee, clean-up is easy breezy. The beaker like pot and cups are made of glass, so I make sure to be careful when cleaning them. I've had this set since Thanksgiving and no broken glass yet, just really terrific coffee. Just a suggestion, try Torrefazione Italia beans for this press. Delicious.

They can break easy if you bump them into something hard edged but I could and have done this with many other thin walled glasses. I can't enjoy my beer now if it is not out of these glasses.
