I will say that you want to start out with a setting on the lighter side as ours did toast a bit darker than expected on medium. However, with a setting of 2, the bread came out perfect. The product claims to allow the user to manually lift the bread higher if needed, but it does not lift the bread that much higher. It is large and does use a bit more counter space than you might expect.

Won't let you push bread down for toasting unless it is plugged in, this has saved me lots of time since I would try to toast in the old toaster only to realize 5 minutes later that it wasn't plugged in. Toasts well too!

The reviews were great and I thought why not? So I did. It's great! Toasts evenly, and the bread actually can be reached without the help of a fork. Bagels toast perfectly too. Great Product and well worth the cost.
