The purple trivet is too pretty to use, but I guess I can "force" myself.

I loved the look of this trivet on the web site, and it is just as cool when it comes. I did not realize that it is not rigid. While that kind of ruined my idea of hanging it on the wall, it allows it to be used in other ways (it unhooks so it can condense itself into a square about the size of a coaster - one of the recommended uses, might I add). It holds up well: I put a hot espresso pot right from the stove onto it (after serving three cups) and it withstood the heat.
