Cooking time???
1 1/2 to 2 hours cooking time? You would end up with green bean potato soup. Must be a typo.

Where's the nutrition?
Wow - 90 minutes to cook this dish? There is no way I would mistreat these delicious ingredients this way! I rated this with two measuring cups simly because the ingredients are right. But the execution of the recipe will be my own - about 20 minutes should do it.

Flavorful green beans
My elderly Southern friend, who is a gracious hostess, once served us this appetizing vegetable at her traditional holiday dinner. She used her own slender green beans fresh from the garden. Ths slow simmer produces a rich blended flavor typical of a casserole. It is delicious with roast meat and poultry. This should not be confused with ordinary crunchy, barely cooked, fresh vegetables. Thanks Robin for the recipe.

Cooking Time
Why should this take 1 to 1-1/2 hours to cook? Depending on the size of the potatoes, it should only take about 20 minutes. No wonder kids won't eat their vegies.

HOME-MADE GREEN BEANS
This is really good fixed this way. For years, I have cooked beans like this, but without the garlic and pearl onions. Just slivered regular onions, bacon, bacon drippings,a little salt, cooked until "cooked down"--the country way.
