PLEASE!!!
I agree with Barb. This is not tortilla soup, this is someone's idea of "cooking Mexican". Real tortilla soup is a subtle delight; a rich flavorful broth, beef or chicken, and fried tortilla strips served with sides of minced onion, cilantro, and crumbled Mexican farmer-style cheese to sprinkle over the top. All of the other ingredients in this recipe just serve to diminish the soup.

Fantastic & so easy!
Terrific soup for a cold Winter day! It's a traditional Posole dish. The only difference I make is to add the chopped cilantro with the other ingredients, rather than using it as a garnish. I enjoy the flavor of cilantro that way and I do the same with parsley. Highly recommend this soup!

Really?
Hominy? In a soup recipe? I'm not making any soup that requires so many ingredients, especially HOMINY. Too many tortilla soup recipes out there without this one. How about some SIMPLER soup recipes that are just as tasty?

This soup is great!
This is only the second soup I've ever made (chicken noodle was the first), and it was really easy to do and tasted GREAT! The whole family liked it, even those that don't like spicy (hint: I cut the diced jalapeno's in half, and that was enough kick for me, and I like me some kick!). It's a hearty, zesty soup that is not expensive and, again, really easy to make. I liked it so much I started a "Soup Day" at the office. Tomorrow is our first one, and guess what I'm making? Thanks, Melinda!

Super Easy and Delicious
This recipe was really easy to follow and make and everyone loved this recipe! I was concerned about the jalapenos, but the consensus was that is wasn’t too spicy .The ingredients listed fresh cilantro, but it was not listed in the directions, so I assumed it was to be used as a garnish. I thought the consistency was more like a stew or chili than a soup as it was quite thick and chunky, but still delicious – especially the next day after all of the flavors marinated together overnight.
