Disappointment
I never go out of my way to write reviews, but I wanted to warn the future fellow cooker/chef. This is more like a grease broth with beans for bread dunking. The Authentic Palacios brand Spanish imported smoked Chorizo (the good stuff)($15 lb)I used in the recipe rendered the soup to be more like a fatty grease soup! During the simmering, I was getting worried and thank god I got creative to add some peas, which saved it somewhat! I would never make this again. I threw away this recipe I printed

Too many beans!!
I made this soup last night and had to add a bit to it for flavor....some smokey paprika, some balsamic vinegar and a bit of garlic. I also added only 3 cans of beans and that was almost too much. While the flavor was good and it was relatively easy, I don't think we will be repeating. Too many beans!!!

Best Soup Ever with Delicious Flavor
Easy Soup to make with a delicious smokey flavor and fills your stomach. Chorizo gives it a nice little bite of spice and garbanzo beans offer some weight to the soup. I would make this in a heart beat again. I am not a big soup eater but this soup was fantastic. Awesome recipe and the toasted french bread with olive oil was amazing as well.

Great Flavors and Perfect Soup as is
I have used a lot of recipes from several cooking sites and this is the first recipe that I felt compelled to write a review. Great flavors from the Spanish Chorizo and although it appears to be a lot of garbanzo beans, it comes together perfectly. My picky kids asked for the left-overs for their lunch. Great recipe and if you like garbanzo beans it is worth making.

Great Stuff!
I tried it and liked it a lot. Since I didn't have any oil on hand but bacon grease, I used that to grease up the pan. With the chorizo and beans, I didn't need any additional salt nor did I add the olive oil. Also used Colombian-style chorizo. It's precooked, like smoked sausage, and not too spicy.

Just so-so
There are thousands of soup recipes of this nature out there. The chorizo is supposed to be the star here but this recipe comes off as far too standard and without anything special about it. If you want a quick uninspiring soup, try this one.

Absolutely Delicious!
So, so, so yummy! The flavors all work well together. I will definitely be making this. The chorizo makes the broth super-flavorful. Mouth-watering goodness...
