use iron skillet and wild Alaskan salmon
I'd like to suggest another option. Use a large iron skillet. Coat with a couple spoons of olive oil. Prepare your salmon steak (great with wild Alaskan salmon) with cajun powder sprinkling. Place in cold skillet skin side down. Place skillet on hot outdoor grille. Cover for 12 minutes. Uncover and remove skillet with the largest mit you have. Spatula the salmon steak on your plate. No lemon or other seasoning. Enjoy especially if you used wild Alaskan salmon (Omega 3 nutrients).

Don't overcook Fish
Someone actually cooked the salmon at 450 for 22 minutes... can u even imagine what was left of a delicate fish like salmon? If you want dry gray flesh with no taste... cook it that way...otherwise 5 minutes a side on the grill will be about right if the salmon steaks are at least 1 inch thick.

Wow!
This is amazing! I thought I made too much of the herb mixture but it was just enough since I rubbed it all over the salmon. I didn't use a "superior" EVOO but used a pretty good one instead (what I use for cooking, which isn't cheap). Also rubbed the same EVOO on the salmon instead of vegetable oil and used dried oregano instead of fresh. The herb mixture is phenomenal and rubbing the garlic all over the salmon is such a great idea. I baked them at 450 for 22 mins in tin foil tents.
