My bananas hardened after baking!
The pudding texture was nice but the filling too mild so I added about 1T cocoa powder which gave it a richer chocolate flavor. For some reason the bananas became firmer than before they went into the pie. I would NOT cook the bananas in the pie, next time, maybe just use 2 egg whites and broil the meringue topping so as to not heat the filling. Or just use whipped cream for the topping.

Chocolate Banana Cream Pie
I have been making this pie for years, but instead I use cooked chocolate pudding, and use cool-whip for topping. It is a favorite of my kids and is always requested for special occasions, even Thanksgiving.
