These cookies are ALWAYS a huge hit and don't last long, so make several batches!
2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
1 cup butter (softened)
1 to 2 tsp. maple extract
3 eggs
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
dash of salt
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
4 cups powdered sugar
3 to 4 Tbs. milk
2 Tbs. butter (softened)
2 tsp. maple extract
Set oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine brown sugar and butter together.

Beat until light and fluffy.

Add maple extract and eggs, and blend well.

Add dry ingredients a little at a time and blend after each addition until incorporated.

Stir in chopped walnuts.

Drop by rounded tablespoons onto cookie sheet. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until light golden brown.

Cool two minutes on cookie sheet and remove onto cooling racks.

Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth. Frost cookies. Add a walnut half to the top of each cookie.
