RECIPE INGREDIENTS
2 LOAVES STALE RAISIN BREAD
PINT HALF & HALF
PINT HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM
10 LARGE EGGS BEATEN
2 TBLSPNS VANILLA EXRACT
SYRUP(HEATED)

DIRECTIONS
PREHEAT OVEN TO 375. IN A LARGE BOWL WHISK TOGETHER EGGS, CREAM, HALF & HALF, AND VANILLA. CUT OR TEAR BREAD INTO LARGE PIECES. SPRAY A 9X13 PAN AND PLACE BREAD PIECES. SLOWLY POUR EGG MIXTURE OVER BREAD. BAKE FOR 1 HOUR OR UNTIL SET. (IT WILL LOOK LIKE BREAD PUDDING)


HEAT SYRUP AND SERVE. YOU CAN ALSO SERVE THIS WITH BACON OR SAUSAGE.

Like Gourmet French Toast
First, Melanie thanks for posting. This recipe IS delicious. Other reviews didn't give this recipe a try. I used 1 1/2 loaves, which loaves were 1 1/2 lbs ea. I aired out fresh slices to be slightly hard (but not necessarily stale), otherwise the bread would have been too mushy with cream/egg mixture poored on top. Final product was very appetizing and slightly sweet and with whatever syrup you put on top. YUM YUM!!! It was even better as leftovers. Thanks again!!
