This is a Christmas morning tradition in our family and we call it Merry Christmas Morning Sausage Pie. I have changed the name to fit the season.
1 lb. Jimmy Dean Black Label sausage
1 9-inch Pet-Ritz Frozen deep dish pie crust
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 tbsp. dried minced onions
2 c. shredded Swiss or Gruyere cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Remove sausage from package; crumble into small pieces.

Cook thoroughy; drain.

Defrost pie crust and pre-bake for five minutes.

Remove from oven and set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, mayonnaise, and minced onions.

Stir in the cheese and sausage.

Pour the mixture into the crust.

Sprinkle lightly with paprika.

Bake for 45 minutes or until top is golden brown.


For a spinach and mushroom pie, omit sausage and add

1 10-ounce pkg. of frozen chopped spinach, thawed and excess liquid squeezed out, 1/2 c. cooked mushrooms, 1/8 tsp nurmeg.
