Party or Picnic Finger Food. Great for the guys when they come over to watch a game, or for break time at your next Texas Hold'em poker party.
12 Chicken Drum Sticks
1/2 C all purpose flour
1/2 lb (2 Sticks) unsalted butter
Red Hot Sauce (I use Frank's)
1/4 C Maple syrup (natural)
1/4 to 1/2 t Cayenne
Wash and dry drumsticks thoroughly. In a large zip-top or paper bag place the flour, cayenne, and about 1 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground). Shake well in bag and shake each drumstick to remove excess flour mixture. Let sit for a few minutes while oil in a deep fryer or skillet filled 1/2 way or less with peanut or canola oil. Heat oil to 360 degrees.

Fry drumsticks a few at a time, without crowding pan so that the oil will maintain temperature, for about 15 minutes until golden. Remove and place on a cooling rack over a sheet pan lined with newspaper.

Mix hot sauce with maple syrup and reserve. Melt butter over low heat. when butter is melted combine with hot sauce/maple syrup mixture in a large bowl. Add drumsticks and toss to coat.

Great for a party.
