My family loves a chuck roast done this way. It is not only good cooked on the grill, but can also be cooked under the broiler,
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1,2-3 pound chuck roast
2 cans beer
1 envelope onion soup mix
Garlic powder, soy sauce and worchestershire sauce, to taste
Chuck Roast on the Grill Recipe at Cooking.com
DIRECTIONS
Combine in a pan large enough to hold the meat and the marinade ingredients, the beer, onion soup mix, garlic powder, soy sauce and worchestershire sauce. Mix well.

Place chuck roast in the pan and spoon mixture over the roast, I use a long fork to poke holes in the meat so the marinade gets inside. Let stand several hours or overnight

turning often.

When ready to cook, place on a grill over medium coals and grill just like you would a steak.

When done meat should be tender like a steak, but the cost is less.

No leftovers for this, your family and friends will gobble it all down.

Not So Good
I followed this recipe as well as possible, but there is very little direction here. Basically it says to add stuff in whatever quantities seems good to you and cook for as long as you think right. How can you add garlic powder, soy sauce and worchestershire sauce to taste? These ingredients don't taste very well until cooked. Anyway, the finished roast was too bland for my family. We would have done better with a good rub.
