This cake isn't too sweet. All the men in my family love it.
2/3 c. softened butter or margarine
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
2 Tbsp. molasses
1 c. sour cream
3/4 c. broken cashews
1/2 c. softened butter or margarine
1/2 c. sour cream
2 c. powdered sugar
3/4 c. broken cashews
Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Combine flour, salt and soda and set aside. In a small bowl,combine sour cream & mollasses.

In a medium mixing bowl, mix butter (or margarine) and brown sugar till light. Add eggs one at a time. Alternate flour mixture and sour cream mixture till the batter is well blended. Fold in 3/4 c. cashews.

Pour mixture into greased 8' square pan and bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cool and frost.


Combine butter (or margarine) and sour cream in medium mixing bowl. Add powdered sugar and beat till combined. Frost cooled cake and sprinkle cashews over the top.
