Casserole (Original recipe was potato top fluffer)

This was one of the first recipes I learned to cook from one of my home economics cook books and we retitled it "Casserole". I have been making this casserole for over 45 years and it is just as good today as it was the first time I made it.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 lb ground beef
medium onion, chopped
Seasoning for ground beef as you like it
2 cans green beans, drained
1 can campbells tomato soup
Ingredients for mashed potatoes
5 slices american cheese
13x9 glass pan or desired glass pan that will hold equivalent to the 13x9 pan.
DIRECTIONS
Brown ground beef, onion and seasoning (my seasoning is garlic and pepper).


While browning ground beef, make mashed potatoes as you like them.


After browning ground beef, add to dish along with green beans, drained, and tomato soup. Mix well or mix in bowl and pour into pan.


Top ground beef mixture with mashed potatoes, then add 1/2 slice cheese to mound of mashed potatoes.


Bake in oven at 350 degrees or heat in microwave oven until hot and bubbly.


Serve with salad and crusty rolls.
