I served this when the children were young and money was often in short supply but it is good anytime.
1 Lb. Hot Dogs
4 to 6 servings of mashed potatoes.
1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Prepare mashed potatoes. Place in middle of baking dish. Stiffer mashed potatoes work best. Arrange hot dogs standing up around the potatoes. Place in 350 degree oven for approximately 30 mins. Sprinkle cheese over the potatoes; return to oven until cheese melts and browns and hot dogs are heated through. Serve with pride.

Very Creative
I made this for my 8 year old nieces, and they thought it was so cute they ate the whole thing! I put the potatoes in a small round casserole dish, sliced the top of the hotdogs about 1/4 of the way down (lengthwise)in an "X" shape and baked it as instructed by Dorothy. When it was done, I put a cube of cheese in the center of the sliced hotdog to make it look like an edible flower pot. The girls loved it! Very cute idea
