You don't need to use the stove to make peanut butter fudge... Use your microwave and let the kids help...
1 lb. of butter from the refrigerator
18 oz. of peanut butter (creamy)
2 lbs. of powdered sugar
a. 1 lb. of chopped walnuts + 1 extra tbs. of butter
b. 18 oz. of mini chocolate chips + 1 extra tbs. of butter
Take 1 lb. of butter from the refrigerator and 18 oz. (1 jar) of peanut butter in a large bowl..

Put into the microwave for 3 1/2 - 4 minutes until the butter is completely melted..

Remove from the microwave carefully (very hot) and HAND stir..(do not use a mixer)

(Add walnuts or chocolate chips at this time if desired...)

Now stir in the powdered sugar a little at a time until completely mixed...

Use a throw away 9 x 12 cake pan and spread evenly..

Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm...
